Mobile Phone Interview - Evaluation

I believe that on a whole, our documentary about mobile phones went reasonably well. We were able to frame the shot of the interviewee as it should have been - with the interviewee to one side of the screen in a medium close up, and never making eye contact with the camera. Moreover, our interviewee, Joe, was positioned so that his eye line was one third of the way down the screen. Also, Joe used a clear voice and by using an instrumental piece of music the audience do not get confused when Joe is speaking although in parts of our documentary, the music was a bit too loud so the audience had difficulty hearing, however this could be adjusted in editing.

We should have thought more carefully about our mise-en-scene as it was irrelevant and had nothing to do with the interview or any of the answers. Although there were some problems with the timing and relevance of the cut-aways, most were filmed well and were mainly relevant to the answers of the interview.

Some of the answers to the question were brief, this problem could be over come in the future by promoting the interviewee to give more details. What's more, on occasion the audience may be confused as to what the interviewee is saying as the questions were edited out. This means that the answers should incorporate the questions and even repeat them in the answers.

Finally, I believe that as a whole our group worked well to produce a documentary on mobile phones and as a first attempt it turned out well.
